The Mallinckrodt Greenville, Illinois Facility is a pharmaceutical plant which required a custom environmental chamber to effectively dry filter media used in its production process.

Since this type of equipment was not produced “off the shelf”, Mallinckrodt selected Helmkamp Construction to lead the team of Dynamic Engineering, Kane Mechanical, and Controlco to design/build the environmental chamber and support area.

Controlco designed and custom programmed a turn-key control system for the Laciny Environmental Chamber which allowed for adjustable cycle times based upon temperature and humidity. Active pressure control assists in preventing support area contamination. Controlco selected the Johnson Controls Facility Explorer family of controllers which utilizes the industry standard BACnet communications protocol. The BACnet protocol allowed for a seamless integration to the AAON / EF units.
