Kraft Foods Plant Expansion – Columbia, MO

Project Description

This project was the 25,000 square foot expansion of Kraft’s production facility. A Johnson Controls Facility Explorer direct digital control system Supervisory Controller utilizing the BACnet protocol provides controller integration. Controlco worked directly with Kraft plant engineering to develop a building automation strategy which met Kraft’s monitoring and control requirements with a cost effective solution.

Equipment Controlled In Building

Ten Greenheck HV Units with Controlco installed and custom programmed Distech controllers and four AAON Rooftop Units with factory installed BACnet controllers provide a versatile facilities control package. As this is a food production facility, unique control wiring installation methods and materials were specified. This included “wash down” areas requiring stainless steel conduit, stand-offs and food grade penetration sealants.
