The St. Louis Spine and Orthopedic Surgery Center is a surgical outpatient facility specializing in orthopedic surgery, pain management and plastic surgery. Controlco in conjunction with American Mechanical performed a BAS retrofit which had a proprietary user interface with no option for upgrade. A Johnson Controls FX-80 Supervisory Controller was installed, which utilizes the latest Tridium Niagara 4 framework. This framework incorporates an intuitive HTML 5 interface, greater data access and is not dependent upon “plug-ins”.
The controller seamlessly integrated with the existing BACnet controllers which allowed the integration to be performed without shutting down critical HVAC systems. This included multiple rooftop units, air terminals, boiler, and reheat systems.
